Subscribing to My Extole Notifications

Overview

In your My Extole account, you can manage your subscription to in-app notifications. Just click on your account in the bottom left corner to open the menu and select Notifications. On this page, you will see all recent notifications or an empty table if you are not yet subscribed. Click on the Manage Notifications button in the top right to change your subscription.

Notification Levels

My Extole notifications include four categories: Business Operations, Reports, Technical, and Configuration Changes. Each category has four subscription levels.

  • You will be notified about information and statuses

  • You will additionally receive any notifications classified as "Some" or "Noteworthy"

Some

  • You will be notified about warnings and anomalies

  • You will additionally receive any notifications classified as "Noteworthy"

Noteworthy

  • You will be notified about errors and accomplishments

None

  • You will not be notified at all

Notification Categories and Example Notifications

Below are the types of notifications that you will receive for each category of notification at each subscription level. To learn more about what each notification means, please see What To Do When You Get a Notification.

Business Operations Notifications

  • Batch jobs that are pending or in progress

  • All operations having to do with the well-defined objects in Extole's system

    • A user subscribed to notifications

    • A campaign was updated

    • A new team member was invited

    • A new promotion link was created

    • An email was sent to an audience

Some

  • Campaigns being published

  • Batch event files that have completed or are duplicated

Noteworthy

  • Coupon set balances that have dipped below a specified threshold

  • Gift card balances that have dipped below a specified threshold

  • Coupon set balances that will dip below a specified threshold after taking into consideration coupon expiration

  • Custom rewards (e.g. account credits, points) that have not been fulfilled within a specified time period

  • Rewards we couldn't issue due to there being no reward supplier associated with an event

  • Consumers exceeding share rate limit rules

  • Batch event files that have failed

Technical Notifications

  • Events that we were unable to manipulate to match our expected integration

  • Events that we received without a value (e.g. cart value, funding amount)

  • Events from which we couldn't read a specific data attribute

  • Events that failed to result in an expected action, including actions written by custom code (e.g. an email sending, a reward being issued, a webhook firing)

  • Events on which we were unable to perform a conditional check (e.g. only count a conversion if that same user also has a signup)

  • Reward rules that we were unable to execute

  • Emails that we were unable to send

  • Webhooks that we were unable to fire

Configuration Changes

Channels

You will receive all notifications within your My Extole account by default. Navigating to the Notifications Center, you can view the details of each notification and optionally snooze them for up to 30 days. If you'd like to additionally receive notifications via email, click on "Channels: in-app", toggle on your email address, and click "Save". You can also set up a webhook to post to Slack whenever you receive a notification of a specific category:

Specific Notification Types

Reports Notifications

Outside of the Settings page, you can also subscribe to reports notifications on the Reports History page by clicking Subscribe at the top of the page:

Scheduled Reports Notifications

Outside of the Settings page, you can subscribe to scheduled report notifications by going to the Reports > Scheduled Reports page.

  1. Find the desired report schedule

  2. On the righthand side of the row, open the menu and select Edit.

  3. Add your email to the Notify Email(s) field and click Save & Run.

After completing the above steps, the next scheduled report will be delivered to your inbox. Please note that if you change any of the data in the report before clicking Save & Run, the most recent report will be re-delivered to all scheduled report subscribers with the new data.

Reward Low Balance Alerts

Outside the Settings page, you can subscribe to reward low balance alerts from the Rewards center by clicking on the "add me" link at the top of the page.

Unsubscribing

If you wish to unsubscribe from any of the aforementioned notifications, you can either do so from the Settings page or by clicking Unsubscribe or "remove me" from any of the specific pages described above.
