Overview
The Acquisition Rate report can show you the change in your Acquisition Rate from week to week. Acquisition Rate measures the odds that a share will result in a transaction, making it a great measure of the overall effectiveness of your friend funnel.
We use the term "transactor" for every unique person who transacts in the specified period. In your program, the desired outcome may be a download, a booking, or a registration. Whichever event we reward will be the top number in the fraction used to calculate the rate. We only count each person once, so if you have two transaction events, like a registration and a purchase, this will not affect your Acquisition Rate.
Acquisition Rate tends to rise as your program ramps up and then stabilize. You can affect your Acquisition Rate by improving the user experience of your program, personalizing the marketing copy of your friend-side email and landing experiences, or increasing the reward.
Understanding the Formula
Acquisition Rate = (transactors/advocates) * 100
You can read the Acquisition Rate formula as, "In a given time period, for every 100 people who advocate, I expect X unique referred friends to transact," where X is your Acquisition Rate. A "transaction" is dependent on your program flow. Common transactions include conversions and registrations. If you have an Acquisition Rate of 16, for example, that means that for every 100 advocates who share, you can expect 16 unique referred friends to transact.
