Overview
A number of factors can contribute to a high Acquisition Rate such as if you run affiliate or influencer-type campaigns where many transactors come in from a single advocate or share.
Recall that Acquisition Rate is calculated as (transactors/advocates) * 100
We use the term "transactor" for every unique person who transacts in the specified period. The desired transaction may be a download, a booking, a purchase, or a registration. We only count each person once, so if you have two transaction events (like registration and purchase), this will not affect your Acquisition Rate.
Benchmark
A high Acquisition Rate is over 30.
How do I investigate a high Acquisition Rate?
We recommend starting your investigation if there are share links attributed to a high number of transactors. Start by pulling the Successful Advocates Report from the Segments & People reports in the Reports tab of your My Extole account to identify if there are advocates who have driven a high volume of transactions.
Once you have identified the number of transactors attributed to specific advocates, subtract that from the total number of transactors for the time period you are looking at and compare that with the advocates during that time period to recalculate an accurate Acquisition Rate.
Once you've identified these select people, think strategically regarding if a reward/reward limits is set up appropriately. Additionally, consider segmenting these select people into an Influencer program with a different reward structure.
