Mail After Purchase - Asking for a Referral When It Matters

Updated over a month ago

One of the most powerful ways to market your refer-a-friend program is right after your customers have purchased. A share experience on the Order Thank You page sparks action because your customers are eager with anticipation, happy with your easy order process, and therefore motivated to share.

But what about when they actually get their order? That's an even bigger moment and one that's perfect for referral. Marketing the opportunity to share in-package is great. Why not make it easier for your customers with a post-purchase email?

Extole's Mail after Purchase capability lets you send a conversion triggered email based on a schedule you set. Timed to arrive shortly after order, this automatic communication has an average advocacy rate over 20% and can increase revenue up to 10%.

Due to it's early success, we strongly suggest you enable it; however, should you want to disable, edit the look and feel, or edit the schedule of the email, you can do so within our visual editor tool. You can do this under the Marketing Tab, and then you will see Mail After Purchase.

Note: Because this is a call to action, you can only have 1 Mail After Purchase promotion live per program.

And speaking of advocacy rate (Unique Advocates / Advocate Viewers), please note that this metric may be low if you have confirmation autopop enabled. This is because the confirmation autopop appears for every purchase made, so the number of Advocate Viewers will be very high. On the other hand, the confirmation autopop improves your Participation Rate (Advocates / Transactors) because it drives advocacy!
