Overview
Rewards are an essential part of your Extole program, as they are the incentive that drives advocacy, referrals, and customer acquisition. To check out reward options, go to the Rewards section of your My Extole account and click on "+ New Reward".
Reward Options
Extole offers a range of rewards to fit the structure of your program and business:
Coupons: Load lists of one-time use coupon codes into the system that can be delivered to your advocates and their friends.
Account credits: Reward both advocate and friend account holders with account credits in the form of discounts, redeemable points, or cash.
Custom rewards: Physical gifts, gifts with purchase, or other custom incentives that you or your partners can distribute.
Gift cards: Extole supports the ability to enable a variety of gift cards and provide them as rewards to your advocates.
Choice of rewards: Extole supports the ability to enable a combination of gift cards, account credits and/or coupons that your advocates and their friends can choose from when they earn a reward.
Salesforce Commerce Cloud rewards: Extole can automatically distribute coupons created in your Salesforce Commerce Cloud platform.
For cash-like rewards, you can also reward advocates and friends with:
Account Rewards Page
The main Rewards page of your My Extole account has a few key components:
A list of all rewards that you have configured for your campaigns and whether or not those rewards are used by any campaigns
Distribution counts of each reward
A list of all rewards, who they were distributed to, and key information about the fulfillment.
You can click on a specific reward to get information about that reward type. You can also click "View [RewardType]" to see aggregated information about all of the rewards in that group (e.g., Gift Cards, Coupons, Custom, SFCC).
Subscribing to Reward Notifications
Go to your rewards pages. At the top of the page, you will see the following note about subscriptions, which will tell you whether or not you are subscribed to reward notifications.
All you need to do is click the "Add me" link.
Note: This does require that users who get reward notifications have an Extole account.
You will need to set up your thresholds when to be alerted as well; however, this will differ based on the type of reward you are distributing. If you are setting up alerts for gift cards, click here to learn more about setting up your alerts and thresholds.
Alternatively, you can subscribe yourself and your team members to low-balance alerts for a specific coupon using the "Notify Email(s)" field.
Finally, you can also subscribe to notifications from your Settings page by navigating to the Team heading and clicking on the edit icon. For more on notifications, please read this Help Center article.
Reward States
In the reward and user support systems, you will find status indicators that can help you understand whether your participants are being rewarded. Rewards have a specific set of states that track when they are earned, issued, and sent.
In this table, a Reward Supplier is the system that is issuing rewards, which can range from Extole for coupons to your own backend systems for account credits.
Once a reward is issued, it can pass through multiple states.
When you view a reward, it will have an associated status. You can click "Manage" on that reward to get more information about the transitions that reward went through and when (and potentially by who).
What does "Legacy" mean?
These refer to old reward sets that were configured using the old rewards pages. We have upgraded our API endpoints for all reward types—any rewards created from the new rewards pages will not have "legacy" written next to the type.
