Maximizing your program performances means turning every customer, enthusiast, and any other person who interacts with your brand into an advocate who shares your products and services with the people that they think will benefit.
Advocates will share to their friends wherever their friends are. This often means emails, but also means the various social networks they participate in, such as Facebook or Twitter, in addition to any other way they wish to share, such as by posting a Share Link to post to their website.
Extole sharing encourages advocates to share through multiple methods by showing them the different potential channels that are part of sharing.
You can see how the share channels are doing by looking at the Share Channel section inside of My Extole.
In August 2020, we began rolling out updated Program and Campaign Dashboards. With this new update, you can view Share Channel performance at the campaign level as well as at the program level. This update also allows you to view the true business events that are relevant to your program (i.e. not just registrations and conversions!). For more information on them and the metrics they provide, please see this Help Center article. For more information about the reports you can download from the new dashboard, please see this Help Center article.
Understanding Share Channels
The Share Channels section tells you where advocates are sharing from and where their friends are "converting" from.
The first pie chart shows you Shares by Channel, which lets you know how many times advocates have shared on each of the channels available.
The second pie chart shows you "Conversions" by Channel to let you know how many "conversions" can be attributed to each of the different channels. "Converting" for your business may mean funding an account, purchasing a policy, or purchasing a subscription.
Inside of each channel tile you'll see:
Share Click-Through-Rate - (Share clicks/Shares) * 100. Share Click-Through Rate is the ratio of clicks on share links to shares. For every one share via a specific channel, the Share Click-Through-Rate tells you how many share clicks you can expect by friends.
"Conversion" Rate - (Conversions/Share clicks) * 100. Conversion Rate is the ratio of conversions to clicks on share links. "Conversion" Rate shows the percentage of friends that will "convert" after clicking on a share link. Again, "converting" for your business may mean funding an account, purchasing a policy, or purchasing a subscription -- these rates can be customized to meet your specific needs.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I understand conversion rate if I send conversions when a friend registers?
Since conversion rate is showing the number of friends that cause a "conversion" with Extole, if your program sends a conversion at registration and approves it at the time of conversion, the rate won't match benchmarks. You'll need to download the CSV version of the report and look at Friend Clicks to Rewarded Conversions.
Consider tracking the friend registration step as part of your conversion funnel to improve reporting and better optimize the friend journey.
