Reports Based on Locale and Country

Updated over a month ago

Overview

If you are running an international program with multiple countries, you can analyze your program data per locale by filtering it directly in the program's Performance Dashboard. We also have several reports that allow you to filter or group data by locale (or language) and country.

Please note: Locale-specific dashboard data is only available from November 2023 onward; however, our reporting tool can access complete historical data.

Terms

Extole has various conventions when we talk about user locale and geographical data. Through our Reports, you can access a range of data, including locale, geo IP, Country, and City.

GeoIP Data

GeoIP data involves mapping a user's IP address to determine their geographical location, including country, state, and city. This data is accessible via certain Extole reports (e.g., Metrics, Events, and many others), where you can specify Country, City, Longitude, and Latitude.

Country and Language Localization

Country and Language localization focuses on the preferred locale of the user, not just their geographic location. This preference is often derived from the user's browser settings and cookies, specifically the "Accept-Language" header. Users can set their preferred locale on websites, providing a customizable experience.

Locales

Locales refer to language and region settings, such as en-US (English, United States) or en-UK (English, United Kingdom).

Relevant Reports

Metrics Report

The Metrics report is fully configurable and can be set up to show you a breakdown of specific metrics by country. For example, you may want to know how many Advocates, impressions, or share clicks have been performed in a program broken down by locale.

Let’s say you are interested in the number of advocates per locale. In this case, you could configure your Metrics report as follows:

Events Report

The Events report is fully configurable and can be set up to show you specific event data, such as shares or outcomes, broken out by country. In the list of filters, you can filter by "Country" and / or "Language", typing your country or language values into the text fields.

For help configuring this report to meet your needs, please reach out to your CSM.

Unique Share Messages Report

This report shows you what your advocates are saying when they customize the share message in the Share Experience. Please see this article for more on this report.

In the Advanced section, you can filter by "Country" and / or "Language", typing your country or language values into the text fields:

Additional Notes

You may notice some of our reports have "Advanced" sections where you can specify your dimensions. Our default dimensions are to group by Program Label and by Campaign ID, but you can also choose to group by criteria like Language or Country. Reports that support dimensions of Language and Country include the Count of Events by Person Report, Email Stats Report, Funnel Report, and Top Promotion Sources Report.
