Overview
Promotions, including onsite call-to-actions (CTAs) and email campaigns, are essential for a successful referral program. Use this guide to create, customize, and publish onsite CTAs (such as overlays, headers, or tiles) or send a promotional email via Extole’s upgraded Flow Builder.
Navigate to the Promotion Viewed Step
Go to the Programs Page.
In the Advocate section, find the Promotion Viewed business event and click on it.
Here, you will see any previously enabled onsite or email promotions.
Add an Onsite Promotion
Click on Promotion Viewed and scroll to the Onsite Promotions section.
Click + New Content.
In the left-hand menu, select your desired CTA format (e.g., overlay, header, tile), then click Add.
Enter a custom name for your promotion to help you identify it later.
Customize your promotion’s copy and creative:
Directly within Flow Builder, or
By returning to the Assets tab and finding it under the Marketing section.
Publish the CTA to your website:
From the main left-hand menu, go to Tech Center → Tag Generator.
Generate and copy the tag for your new CTA.
Add this tag to your website code where you want the promotion to appear.

Add a Promotional Email
Click on Promotion Viewed and scroll to the Email Promotions section.
Click + New Email Promotion.
In the left-hand menu, select an email template and click Add.
Enter a custom name for your email promotion.
Customize your email’s copy and creative:
Directly in Flow Builder, or
By returning to the Assets tab and finding it under the Marketing section.
When ready to send your promotional email:
Follow the instructions in Upload and Email an Audience.
Don’t forget, in order to use these CTAs or send the email, your campaign changes must be published. Follow this guide to help publish changes and set campaigns live.
